Absent Spirit

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states, “Every day, about 32 people in the United States die in drunk-driving crashes.” (NHTSA). Alcohol-related risks are undeniable, so how can safety be promoted without judgment? Absent Spirit is a mocktail bar and brand in West Chester, Pennsylvania, reimagining drinking culture. It replicates the social atmosphere of a traditional bar, welcoming college students, sober individuals, and anyone who travels in. Featuring four signature drinks, each paired with a character and an alcohol-related risk, these mocktails are reimagined as “cures” through a sorcery-inspired aesthetic, all under a brand name that plays on the absence of alcohol and its potential impacts.
